Debate fallout: Democrats

(New York Times)

The Democrats are done taking potshots at each other at the ABC/Facebook Debate in New Hampshire. My feelings, we had a few winners tonight.

Bill Richardson: I think that Bill Richardson came out with a lot of good views in the debate, but he seemed to fatigue the audience with his continuous talk about his experience as governor.

Barack Obama– Obama met the expectations that were set for him before the debate. He carried himself well in the debate and seemed…presidential? He’s got the big mo and it’s going to keep truckin’ in New Hampshire till Tuesday

Hillary Clinton– Hillary…Hillary…Hillary. Your best moment of the debate came when responding to your likability. You almost seemed likable in that instant, but it faded away. All this talk about experience, well Rudy finally has something right when he said on Tuesday’s episode of Hannity&Colmes that, I — I honestly and most respectfully, I don’t know Hillary’s experience. She’s never run a city; she’s never run a state; she’s never run a business; she’s never met a payroll; she’s never been responsible for the safety and security of millions of people, much less even hundreds of people. So I’m trying to figure out where the experience is here.”

He’s right. For once. Hillary Clinton is not the candidate of experience, and she is certainly not the candidate of change, and hopefully she won’t be a candidate for the Presidency soon.

(Hillary Clinton responds to John Edwards, getting a bit testy)

John Edwards- A good showing for Senator Edwards. George Stephanopoulos noted how rested Edwards looked, and he was right. Edwards took on Clinton strongly, and seemed to have found an ally for himself in Obama. Maybe it isn’t over as quickly as I previously predicated for fmr. Senator Edwards.

All in all, a good debate to precede the New Hampshire primary. The Democrats were far more civil than the Republicans, with the exception of Hillary’s little burst of anger.

Expectations: I’m still saying Obama, Clinton, Edwards, Richardson.

Quote of the evening- “Words do inspire,Words do help people get involved.” -Barack Obama responding to Hillary Clinton
